Pediatric Care Designed Around the Child and Family
Caring for a medically fragile child requires more than a care plan. It requires consistency, communication, training, and a team that understands how important it is for families to feel supported at home.
Mays Home Care Pediatrics provides pediatric services for children who may need ongoing nursing care, frequent monitoring, skilled support, or assistance with approved care activities. Our team works closely with families, physicians, and care partners to help each child receive appropriate support based on their needs and authorized services.
Our Paid Family Caregiver, or PFC, program works alongside our Private Duty Nursing services to provide families with additional support in caring for medically fragile children at home.
Eligible family members receive training, competency validation, and ongoing RN supervision to assist with approved care activities. This allows care to remain consistent, familiar, and centered around the child’s daily routine, while ensuring appropriate oversight and support are in place.
Paid Family Caregiver Program
The PFC program recognizes what families already know: loved ones are often deeply involved in a child’s day-to-day care. With the right training and supervision, eligible family caregivers can become an important part of the child’s structured care team.

Who May Benefit from Pediatric Home Care?

A child may be a candidate for pediatric home care if they have medical needs that require ongoing support, frequent monitoring, or assistance from trained caregivers or nurses.
Families may benefit from pediatric services when a child:
- Has unstable or complex medical needs
- Requires frequent adjustments to the care plan
- Needs ongoing in-home monitoring
- Has equipment, respiratory, feeding, or mobility-related needs
- Needs skilled care coordination after hospitalization
- Requires support to remain safely at home
Each child’s needs are reviewed individually to determine the appropriate level of care and available service options.
Where Services May Be Provided
Depending on eligibility, authorization, and the child’s care needs, pediatric services may be provided in settings such as:
- The child’s home
- The home of a primary or alternate caregiver
- School, when authorized and appropriately arranged
- A qualifying day care setting
Our goal is to support care in the setting that best meets the child’s needs while maintaining safety, consistency, and coordination.

Pediatric services may be covered through a variety of payment sources, depending on eligibility and authorization requirements. These may include:
